Dance Physiotherapy

We have accumulated several years of physiotherapy experience across all genres of dance, having previously managed the company of ‘Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake' and some of the largest shows in the West End and UK tours, such as ‘Wicked’, ‘Kinky Boots’ and ‘Matilda’. We also treat a range of students at Performing Arts colleges in London and the North West.

We understand that Dance and Performance Physiotherapy is a specialist area. We utilise our knowledge of what is required to perform, at our Manchester and Altrincham clinics, to ensure that an appropriate, individual treatment and rehabilitation plan is put in place. This is key to not only ensuring a safe but also an efficient return to full training and performance quickly.

Injuries in dance range from acute to longer-term pain. Some of the more common injury areas are the:

  • Feet
  • Ankles
  • Knees
  • Hips
  • Lower back

These areas can be injured following a particular movement or as a consequence of repetition.

With our comprehensive links with local specialist consultants or expert fitness trainers in the Greater Manchester area, we can also help you with referrals if required, ensuring you have a team of people working together for you to create a seamless dance physiotherapy and rehabilitation process.
